No hope for Pudge Wars

Post by AlphaWolf on 15/06/13, 08:24 am

There is no hope for Pudge Wars, Warcraft 3 players have moved to Starcraft 2. Next 2 years, Warcraft 3 will become obsolete, mark my words. Not letting Pudge Wars die is like not letting a guy with a uncurable illness die. If we just don,t let Pudge Wars die, it will die 1 year later. We must put Pudge Wars to rest, its already obsolete and its not even fun to play. The reason Warcraft 3 LIVED FROM 2002 to 2012 is because its not the modding or the community, but its the overrated piece of SH** DOTA. Its better to play Pong or Tetris than that overrated piece of sh**. Back to the days when everyone in my country plays Counter Strike, now everyone plays a game where you put your life at risk, DOTA. If you play that game, you will recieve a lot of profanity, swearing, immature words and deathwishes coming at your way. You can even bet real money so if you win the enemy team pays you double the money you bet but if you lose you pay the enemy team your money that you bet and to add insult to injury you get a lot of swearing, profanity, immature words in exchange for giving them your money. You will see Dota Fanboys everywhere in internet cafes and they shout immature and swear words everywhere from before the start of their match to the end of their match. There are lots of things i will say about that DOTA piece of **** but now it seems that this topic is more about DOTA than Pudge Wars but this is the last thing i say about Warcraft 3. Without DOTA Warcraft 3 would have died 3 years ago or 5 years ago.

~Moved to Off-Topic Discussions.

First of all, Warcraft 3 has survived so long because of the modding. I code spells for people at HiveWorkshop.com, and there are still lots of active people there. However, I also think that DotA did help Warcraft 3 stay alive, but it's not the only reason.

Secondly, DotA is AWESOME!

I'd rather continue development to perfect it for my own interests rather than for the community. If I ever go back to working on it (likely never), I'd just end up recoding it or working on AI. So, it's more of a toy I play around with than actually something I do for the community. At least, that is how I would see it from now.

As for DotA being Warcraft III's reason for living, I won't say anything on that.

@Siraraz: You're considering working on the map again? I understand that you would work on it for yourself. Perhaps if we had a community that got involved you would feel differently.
