Tri-lane Layout?

Hi guys,

I am thinking of developing Pudge Wars further and thought of an idea: a tri-lane layout. This would mean there would be 3 teams playing against each other. The layout could look something like this:



What do you think? Could this possibly work?
The island in the middle could have something that you can hook to (such as the fountain or a special shop).

I would really like to try to "revive" Pudge Wars because it is such a fun and intense game

I don't think it will work out that well, I personally never really enjoyed 3 team free for all type maps/game modes. 4 teams map, now that could work a lot better, though the map design will require a lot of brainstorming for it to be balanced and feel unique enough so people will give it a try over the regular pudge wars.

Well think about it. When has a game with 3 players been fun? More than often 2 of the teams intentionally or not team up vs the other team if he's good or they're a group of friends. Such an issue destroys all of the game's competitive nature which also lowers casual interest towards the game because it won't be balanced in a way where they can play a quick game without worrying about being double tagged by the enemy.

There is imo a way to work around this issue and that's making it so that team 1 can only attack team 2 and can only be attacked by team 3. With the same mechanic for team 2 and 3. However I'm not sure if a lot of people will like this.

T-down. It's hard to find even 3 players to have a game together. So idea is good, but IMO it mustn't affect the map at all. And also: maybe it would be better to ad such a DM (TDM mode off) gammode?
Mr_Bean, are you current developer of PW? You have open PWA map sources?

There is no official developer. Siraraz has stopped working on the map and has released an unprotected version for anyone to use.

Open sources? Rly? Huh, I didn't know.
WC3 is gone off after Dota 2 release. Hope Dota 2 will have map editor based on its gameworld, this will give all WC3 projects new life.

Nope, after conflict Bliazzard and Valve(about name dota and gameplay etc), Blizzards "bought" all rights on custom maps, that's why Valve not making popular maps at WC3 - dota their limit

Does anyone have any other ideas for Pudge Wars?
I've already implemented a new item (which will hopefully work out).

What a crap! Mapmakers can rename all the heroes connected with WC3 and Blizzard and go on cuz it's (ideas, scenarios, triggers and so far) their intellectual property. Huh. Wait for Valve.

I'm not going to reveal it just yet ;D
I've added a total of 1 item, 1 consumable and 2 powerups so far. They aren't too exciting, because I'm still getting used to all the code.
I'm writing exams now for the next 3 weeks, so I won't be able to make much progress.
